About RYA
Being trained by The Royal Yachting Association means that you can expect to be taught by an experienced skipper aboard a seaworthy yacht, on courses within the RYA National Cruising Programme. Each centre is inspected regulary to ensure that training yachts and instructors meet the high standards required by the RYA, the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) and IPTA.
The RYA is responsible for administrating the recognition system and ensuring standards of training are maintained. It is not party to arrangements you make with a recognised centre. If you are unhappy with a course, and your problems cannot be resolved with the principle of the centre, contact Simon Jinks, Chief Cruising Instructor, at the RYA.
